What's wrong with our kids today? It seems like they are always getting into trouble! Rebellion, disobedience, falling grades, vandalism, drugs, crime and running away to the party life seem a familiar pattern in today's teenagers. Even young people that avoid the worst of it have to struggle to maintain a somewhat normal life and battle pressure on a daily basis from misbehaving friends who are determined to take them down the wrong path.
Yes, those children just won't listen! Adults try telling them to study, to learn about the vast complicated world they will soon face, and how God can help them counter it. We all want them to succeed and be happy, but they won't believe it. Stubborn, intractable and unmoving, it's as if they are covering their ears, humming and gleefully chanting "I can't heeeeear you!" Why can't these rapscallions just use some common sense?
Hold it right there, parents, grandparents and legal guardians! Perhaps you are the ones that won't listen. Maybe it is true when the children retort: "You don't know what we are going through at school every day!" Can it be that they face not just the bullies, peer pressure and emotional roller coasters we all encountered, but something vastly more complicated - and menacing? In this important time in our nation's history comes an exciting new book titled From Schoolhouse to Courthouse: Exposing America's New Terror From Within, by Carl S. Parnell, Ed.D.
From deep in the trenches of the United States education system, Geography, Economics and American History teacher Carl Parnell calls upon his vast reservoir of accumulated knowledge to convey an important message - our children are in danger! Not from something obvious like a falling piano, but from cunning forces almost beyond comprehension that seek to influence and control the citizens of our country for their own nefarious purposes. Unable to get many adults to believe in philosophies and ideas that defy reason, these forces must go deeper to attack our children with subtle propaganda.
However, even kids occasionally see the illogic of socialist and New Age thinking, often better than adults. The exploitation must be devious and understated to be effective over the long term - and not noticed by parents! First, the very concept of right and wrong must be called into question. Moral relativism is a key part to establishing a young mind receptive to ideals contrary to home teachings. And these ideals should not be pushed too hard, but simply repeated until well established enough that, even if not convinced, the children won't question them.
Already in place for some time, the corruption has spread throughout society so that few still know the basics of American History. Yet it's important to understand the roots of how our country began and it's Godly heritage to know exactly what is being corrupted. In true form, the historian in Carl Parnell takes over the first chapter to explain in easy to understand terms the political and spiritual thinking expressed by our Founding Fathers while forming our nation. It turns out that "Separation of Church and State" is not in the US Constitution after all - and never was. Imagine that!
Next we find out some hard facts about the values intended to replace those hard won by our forefathers. Names are named, but the information is well researched and footnoted. It is often hard to comprehend what some people believe, but the fact remains that strange principles are considered viable by a certain percentage of the population. Marxism, cult type religions and promiscuity certainly all seem at odds with each other. Yet proponents of these opposing views will set aside their differences and work together when acting against Judeo-Christian values.
Speaking of work, don't these people have jobs? Yes, many of them in the US Education system! And their roots go deep. Few understand what a major impact radical thinking has had in our schools. Dr. Parnell obviously does, and traces its beginnings and influence throughout the 20th century and up to the present. Lots of people think Dewey was a wonderful influence on our education system. But according to humanist John Dewey, educators should "prepare the child to fit into society as a servant of the State." And there are many more of Dewey's incredibly bad ideas that were accepted by a gullible American population, as this book explains in great detail.
Government schools are not the only place Marxists, humanists, New Agers, homosexual activists, porn promoters, anti-Christian bigots, drug legalization advocates, abortion enablers and similar types of people can find employment to influence society. There are also the courts to consider! Although liberal media have attempted to convince us that strange behavior is perfectly normal for some time now, the propaganda doesn't always take hold. The people of America frequently refuse to support radical left wing policies in our House, Senate and Presidential Admini-stration, leaving frustrated activists with only one way to force an unwilling population into their bizarre societal mold.
Judicial activism is an insidious and devious means to an end, yet it has been effective in many cases. In the latter half of "From Schoolhouse to Courthouse" Dr. Parnell again reveals with stunning clarity how these mileposts of pernicious purpose were and are being achieved. "Political Correctness" is term we are all too familiar with in the 21st century. The Orwellian concept is foreign to common sense yet reluctantly followed by many due to judicial enforcement or threat of same.
Thankfully, Carl S. Parnell, EdD does not simply bring us depressing news of how bad things are and leave it at that. All is not lost! A vital part of his detailed analysis brings to light ways to counter and resist bad influences unthinkingly imposed by our own government. For it is, after all, our own government! Reading and checking our children's textbooks is a start. Few parents realize they can be involved with how these books are approved. And the Judicial branch is only one of three; judges are indeed held accountable. In fact, checks and balances are in place throughout the school and court systems. We only need knowledge, courage and power to use them. This book supplies the knowledge. God will provide the power. Who will bring courage to the equation? Let's pray about that daily as we all stand up for our children and society in America!
